What We Believe

What We Believe

1. WE BELIEVE…The Scriptures are Inspired by God and are his revelation to us (his creation) of himself and his plan. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)

2. WE BELIEVE…that There is only One True God–revealed in three persons…Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (commonly known as the Trinity). (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22)

3. WE BELIEVE…in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ. As God’s son Jesus was both human and divine. (Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31-35, Acts 1:9,11, Philippians 2:9-11)

4. WE BELIEVE…that God created mankind to be good, but, Men Willingly Chose to Sin–which brought both physical and spiritual death, into the world. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 5:12-19)

5. WE BELIEVE…that Every Person Can Have a Restored Relationship with God Through ‘Salvation‘ (accepting Christ’s offer of forgiveness for sin). (Romans 10:13-15, Ephesians 2:8, Titus 2:11)

6. WE BELIEVE…in Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving Christ’s gift of salvation, and Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation. (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, 1 Corinthians 11:26,)

7. WE BELIEVE…that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times. (Acts 1:4,8, 8:12-17, 10:44-46, 15:7-9)

8. WE BELIEVE…that ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles is still valid today. (Acts2:4, 1 Corinthians 4-10, 28)

9. WE BELIEVE…that Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a lifelong process of separating ourselves from evil as we continually draw closer to God and become more like Christ. (Romans 12:1, 2:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1:Peter 1:16, Philippians 2:12,13)

10.WE BELIEVE…that The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of all people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious affiliation) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ. (Mark 16:15,16, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 4:11-16, 1 Corinthians 12:28)

11.WE BELIEVE…that A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church. (Ephesians 4:11,16)

12.WE BELIEVE…that Divine Healing is a Privilege for Christians Today and was provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins). (Isaiah 53:4,5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:14-16)

13.WE BELIEVE…in The Blessed Hope–or Rapture of the Church Prior to Christ’s Return to Earth (the second coming). At this future moment, all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are still alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. (1 Corinthians 15:51,52) 1 Thessalonians:4:16-17, Titus 2:13)

14.WE BELIEVE…in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints and begins His benevolent rule over the earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of Israel and the establishment of universal peace. (Revelation 20:1-6, Romans 11:26,27, Ezekiel 37:21,22, Isaiah 11:6-9, Micah 4:3,4)

15.WE BELIEVE…that A Final Judgment Will Take Place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and consigned to eternal punishment in the lake of fire (hell). (Matthew 25:46, Mark 9:43-48, Revelation 20:11-15)

16.WE BELIEVE…and look forward to the perfect New Heavens and a New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people who have accepted Him. We will live and dwell with Him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. ˆ2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21, 22)
